Great successful for our broodmares and foals
We had a really wonderful and educational day when Sports Horse Breeding GB came to assess our broodmares and the 2023 foals. All of our broodmares were graded into the Main Stud Book and Future Dark Art (Holly) was awarded Head Stud Book status! Further Holly's 2023 foal that is by Chacco Bay (Mae - Kelseys Cover Girl) and Annie's foal by Billy Congo (Ziggy - Kelseys Red Kite) were awarded premium grade. The whole day was so interesting and the informative judges gave us great confidence in our breeding programme and inspired us for the future!!1
Broodmares in Foal for 2024!!
We are delighted to announce we have two successful heartbeat scans and one successful embryo scan.
Yesterday morning our vets came to scan Holly (Future Dark Art), Thistle (Kelseys Thistle) and Alice (Wonderland Alice). Holly is in foal to the showjumping superstar Copain Du Perchet, who combined with Holly's dressage father (Painted Row) and her high(94%) thoroughbred blood should make for a future eventing star foal with nearly 70% blood.
Thistle (Bazaars Exclusive(Welton Crackerjack) x Primitive Rising) is in foal to the veteran producers of top horses in all fields, Silvester. The foal again will have a high % of blood 57%, and should combine movement, jump, athletic ability and stamina.
Alice was scanned in foal to the young stallion Jacondrik. This foal will combine the bloodlines of eventing greats, Jaguar Mail, Contendro, Heraldik, Mill Law and Coevers Diamond Boy. Again a high blood % of 60%, a very exciting prospect for the future.
Alice would not wait and has foaled 3 weeks early!
Alice did not want to wait any longer for her foal when her mates had already given birth, so here we have Felix, who arrived at a very civilised time just before midnight. Thank you so much to Jo for helping us to get him to suckle.
